1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it fills up.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and may have issues navigating across surface transitions like hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most crucial feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up automatic vacuum cleaners in the majority of households however, it can also fit nicely on the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can move it around like an enchanted wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It is able to swiftly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments and the Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to get every single spot (though an additional run-through often will suffice). However, this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently is power-depleted before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled by the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while offering a wider range of features for automation.

In our testing of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot vacuum cleaner top 10's cleaning zone. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure an easy, quick clean-up.
