Alex Luna (born Alexander Tyshchenko, 2nd of March, 1986) is a Ukrainian countertenor.[1]

Biography and career

Luna graduated from the Kyiv Glier Institute of Music in 2005.[2]

In 2003, Luna was cast for one of the leading parts in the Ukrainian musical Equator.[3]

His first album Svet Luny (Moon Light) and his third video were presented in Kyiv City Hall.[4]

After Claudio Simonetti heard Luna's voice, he went to Kyiv to meet the singer in person.[5]

Luna performs with the children's chorus at the annual New Year's Eve ball in Kyiv every year.[6]

In 2009 Luna received the Person of the Year award. He also appeared on several magazine covers (10 Days magazine, What's On,[7] Gallery magazine,[8]

Charity

In September 2011, Luna took part in the Anti-AIDS campaign organized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Healthcare.[9] He performed his single Heavens with Vlada Crystal at the event held as part of the campaign.[10]

He also performed at Third Presidential Charity Ball in Almaty (Kazakhstan)[11] and on the opening of the 10th Gala AIDS Ball in Berlin (Germany)
