The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this mop and robot cleaner vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot automatic vacuum and mop/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you forget about your chores. The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to how dirty they are.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have lot furniture. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes.
